Smith Haughey is pleased to share that attorney Cheri Chandler has been awarded the Michigan Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates’ (ABOTA) Presidential Recognition Award. Cheri is the first-time recipient of the award, which is “in recognition of extraordinary contributions and dedication to furthering the mission of the American Board of Trial Advocates Michigan Chapter.”
While there are many reasons Cheri is most deserving of this award, her recognition is based on the work she has done to increase membership and participation of women and minorities in the Michigan chapter.
Cheri joins Tom McCarthy in the lineup of 2020 ABOTA-honored attorneys. Tom has been awarded the Richard B. Baxter Exemplary Advocate Award, which “which recognizes the preeminent Michigan trial lawyer who best exemplifies the tradition of civility and integrity in the legal profession.”
Cheri and Tom will be honored at the organization’s annual meeting and holiday gathering, which will be a Zoom event taking place on December 4 at 5 pm. More about the ABOTA Michigan Chapter can be found here.
