Litigation Associate Attorney – Grand Rapids, MI

Smith Haughey Rice and Roegge, home to one of West Michigan’s most successful litigation departments, seeks an outstanding Associate Attorney to join the team in our Grand Rapids, MI office. The ideal candidate will have one to three years of litigation experience, outstanding research and writing skills, and a commitment to excellence.

Medical Malpractice Paralegal – Ann Arbor, MI

Smith Haughey Rice and Roegge is looking for a Paralegal to join the medical malpractice team in its Ann Arbor, MI office. This position is approximately 30 hours per week and benefits eligible. 

The paralegal is primarily responsible for researching law, investigating facts, summarizing records, reviewing and preparing legal documents, preparing and assembling extensive materials, and working with attorneys in trial preparation.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, exude a high degree of professionalism, and be the ultimate team player. A bachelor’s degree in legal studies or another related field and a paralegal certificate or equivalent are required. Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel) and document management software is strongly preferred. A minimum of three years of experience working as a paralegal is required. Experience with medical terminology and/or medical malpractice is a plus.

Business & Real Estate Associate Attorney – Holland, MI or Muskegon, MI

Smith Haughey Rice and Roegge is seeking a Business & Real Estate Associate Attorney to join the team in our Holland, MI or Muskegon, MI office.

The successful candidate will have a strong academic record paired with the skills and enthusiasm for a career in business and real estate. Experience preparing documents for business organizations, including corporate formation, terms and conditions, and mergers and acquisitions, as well as service as outside general business counsel, and real estate acquisition and disposition is preferred. Two to four years of experience practicing law post-J.D. preferred. Candidates must be licensed (or willing and able to become licensed) and be in good standing to practice law in the state of Michigan. The associate attorney will have the opportunity to work with various types of businesses, including private and publicly traded corporations, non-profits, and other organizations.

Family Law Associate Attorney – Grand Rapids, MI

Smith Haughey Rice and Roegge seeks a senior Family Law Associate Attorney to join the team in our Grand Rapids, MI office. The ideal candidate will have five to seven years of family law experience, outstanding written and oral communication skills, and a commitment to excellence. The selected attorney will meet with clients, appear in court, draft pleadings, legal briefs, motions, and responsive pleadings, assist with discovery, and all other aspects of handling family law matters. The family law associate will work alongside a shareholder with over two decades of experience in the practice area. Candidates must be licensed (or willing and able to become licensed) and in good standing to practice law in the state of Michigan.
