Litigation/Medical Malpractice Paralegal (Ann Arbor) 

Smith Haughey is looking for a Paralegal to join the team in its Ann Arbor office. The paralegal is primarily responsible for researching law, investigating facts, summarizing records, reviewing and preparing legal documents, preparing and assembling extensive materials, and working with attorneys in trial preparation.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, exude a high degree of professionalism, and be the ultimate team player. A bachelor’s degree in legal studies or another related field and a paralegal certificate or equivalent are preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel) and document management software strongly preferred. Five or more years of experience working as a paralegal is preferred. Experience with medical terminology and/or medical malpractice a plus.

Experienced Medical Malpractice Attorney (Grand Rapids)

Smith Haughey is seeking an experience Medical Malpractice Attorney to join our teams in the Grand Rapids office. The ideal candidate should have 10 to 20 years of meaningful medical malpractice experience—i.e., managing cases from start to finish, formulating and implementing litigation strategy, taking and defending depositions, and drafting and arguing substantive motions.

Associate Attorney – Litigator (Grand Rapids)

Smith Haughey is seeking a senior Associate Attorney to join the team in our Grand Rapids office. The ideal candidate has 3 to 5 years of meaningful litigation experience—i.e., helping to formulate and implement litigation strategy, taking and defending depositions, and drafting and arguing substantive motions. Familiarity with appellate practice a plus.

Health Law Attorney  (Grand Rapids)

Smith Haughey is seeking a Health Law Attorney to join the team in our Grand Rapids office. The successful candidate will have a strong academic record paired with the skills and enthusiasm for a career in health law.  Experience in health care business, regulation, compliance, technology, and licensing required.  One to five years of experience practicing health law is preferred.  The attorney will have the opportunity to work with many types of health care organizations, including hospitals, health systems, physician groups, health care insurance entities, and others.
