Family Law Associate Attorney – Grand Rapids, MI
Smith Haughey Rice and Roegge seeks a senior Family Law Associate Attorney to join the team in our Grand Rapids, MI office. The ideal candidate will have five to seven years of family law experience, outstanding written and oral communication skills, and a commitment to excellence. The selected attorney will meet with clients, appear in court, draft pleadings, legal briefs, motions, and responsive pleadings, assist with discovery, and all other aspects of handling family law matters. The family law associate will work alongside a shareholder with over two decades of experience in the practice area. Candidates must be licensed (or willing and able to become licensed) and in good standing to practice law in the state of Michigan.

Estate Planning Attorney – Grand Rapids and Holland, MI
Smith Haughey Rice and Roegge seeks an experienced Estate Planning Attorney to join our firm’s West Michigan-based Private Client Services practice group. Candidates must have experience providing sophisticated legal advice, plan design, and document drafting in areas including basic estate planning, tax and wealth transfer planning, business succession planning, trust and estate administration, and be conversant in general business and real property matters. Candidates will work primarily from our firm’s Holland and Grand Rapids offices but may also occasionally serve clients from our Muskegon and Ann Arbor offices.
Five to seven years of experience is preferred, but we welcome conversations with attorneys or small groups with more or less experience. Portable books of business are a positive, but not required. CPA credentials, MST or LLM in tax degrees, probate court clerk experience, or trust company experience would be welcomed. Candidates should be licensed to practice in Michigan. The firm offers a collegial team environment and candidates must be able to thrive in such a setting. Competitive salary and generous benefits include a relocation package.
