Melissa is an associate attorney who practices in Smith Haughey’s Grand Rapids with a focus on Medical Malpractice defense.
Melissa earned her Juris Doctorate from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. She is also a graduate of the University of Michigan Dearborn where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.
While at Loyola, she served as a Mentor in the Castillo Mentorship Program, Writer/Editor for the Public Interest Law Reporter, and Director of Student Outreach for the Health Law Society.
Prior to joining SHRR, she gained experience working at a personal injury/medical malpractice firm in Chicago, clerked for an academic medical institution, and completed an internship with the Illinois Health and Hospital Association.
Outside the office, she enjoys kayaking, pickleball, and playing with her munchkin cat. With her college softball experience, she enjoys coaching youth baseball/softball players during the summer season!
