Biography

Aaron Swayne is originally from the Metro Detroit area. He came to Grand Rapids in 2013 for undergraduate studies at Grand Valley State University and has been here ever since. At Grand Valley, Aaron double majored in Legal Studies and Criminal Justice and minored in Spanish. He graduated from Grand Valley in 2018.

Aaron attended WMU Cooley Law School from 2019 to 2022. During law school, Aaron regularly competed in Moot Court and Mock Trial competitions. In 2021, he was a quarterfinalist in the Stetson National Pretrial Competition. He was also awarded the “Top Advocate” award in Moot Court for his advocacy skills. Aaron also in various leadership positions during his time in law school. He served as Moot Court Competition Chairman, Mock Trial Events & Promotions Chairman, a senator in the school’s Student Bar Association, the Academic & Student Relations Chairman, and he was a member of the Student Mentorship Committee.

During law school, Aaron clerked for a Plaintiff’s personal injury firm in Grand Rapids. After law school, and prior to joining SHRR, Aaron gained valuable experience working as an associate attorney at a large civil litigation firm based out of Troy, Michigan.

Aaron currently lives in Standale with his girlfriend, Sabrina, and their cat, Stubbs. Outside of the office, his hobbies include exercising, playing in various sports leagues, and traveling. Aaron also enjoys being a part of the local community and working with others.
