Smith Haughey’s Eddy chosen for Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s Women in the Law

Grand Rapids, Mich., July 25, 2016 — Sheila E. Eddy has been chosen for Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s Women in the Law, Class of 2016.

The list of Women in the Law consists of 30 top women attorneys who practice in Michigan. A large number of nominations are submitted before the Michigan Lawyers Weekly staff selects the final 30 practitioners. Selections are based on the nominees’ commitment to excellence in the practice of law, leadership skills, and dedication to volunteerism and mentoring to women attorneys. An awards luncheon will be held to honor the recipients on Thursday, September 15 at the Detroit Marriott in Troy, Mich.

Sheila is an attorney in the firm’s Grand Rapids office who practices in the areas of trademark, copyright, trade secret, Internet, and business law, in both transactional and dispute resolution context. She is the Vice Chairperson for the Intellectual Property Section of the Grand Rapids Bar Association as well as serving on the Board of Trustees for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of West Michigan. In addition to this recognition, Sheila was nominated as a Grand Rapids Business Journal 2015 Newsmaker of the Year for her extensive legal work with Pigeon Hill Brewing Company.
