Smith Haughey Welcomes Three Attorneys to its Lakeshore and Grand Rapids Offices

Grand Rapids, Mich., February 19, 2017 — Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge is pleased to announce that attorneys Michael E. Doversberger, Patricia S. Hertel, and Samantha A. Pepprock have joined the firm, as along with its new Holland office coordinator, SaraJane Bos.


Mike Doversberger
is an attorney in Smith Haughey’s Holland office, practicing in the areas of business, real estate, intellectual property, franchise, and employment law. Mike began his legal practice in Mishawaka, Indiana and Dowagiac, Michigan, before joining Smith Haughey. He has represented both individuals and publicly traded corporations, has drafted and negotiated numerous types of agreements, and has acted as counsel to employers on human resource needs and strategies. He also has experience litigating commercial disputes, contracts and employment claims.


Patty Hertel
joins the firm’s Holland office as a business and real estate attorney. Previously having worked in Smith Haughey’s Grand Rapids office, Patty is a familiar face to many and thrilled to work with the attorneys in Holland. Patty earned her J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law, where she graduated, magna cum laude. While pursuing her J.D., she worked as a summer associate at Smith Haughey, drafting motions and trial court briefs. Patty also worked for the Ionia County Prosecutor’s Office, where she gained experience in researching evidentiary issues, criminal sexual conduct and a felony murder case. She also conducted pre-trial plea bargains with defendants and defense counsel.


Samantha Pepprock
is an attorney in Smith Haughey’s Muskegon office, practicing in the areas of estate planning, business, real estate and immigration law. In addition to being licensed to practice law in the state of Michigan, Samantha is also licensed to practice law in her home state of Wisconsin. She attended Winona State University for her B.L.A before moving to Michigan to attend Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Samantha spent time abroad during her studies, where she developed her bilingual capabilities and became fluent in Spanish, a skill she utilizes now in both her professional and volunteer work.


SaraJane Bos

serves as the office coordinator in the firm’s Holland office. She oversees the daily operations of the office including the administration, accounting, human resources, facilities management, computer services and central services. SaraJane moved back to Holland after living in Los Angeles for 15 years, working in the film and television industry as an assistant prop master.
