Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge is pleased to announce that attorney Nicholas Nahorski has joined the firm’s Ann Arbor office.
Nick joined Smith Haughey’s Ann Arbor office in 2020 as senior counsel. Nick has been recognized as an emerging leader in medical malpractice defense and brings experience to the Ann Arbor office’s medical malpractice group. Throughout his practice he has defended solo practitioners, medical practice groups, community hospitals and clinics, and large health systems against claims of medical malpractice throughout Michigan.
Nick is a seasoned attorney who brings many years of medical malpractice experience to Smith Haughey. He has represented clients in diverse areas of medicine, from general and family practitioners to orthopedic and vascular surgeons. As appropriate for each situation and case, he works closely with the client to develop an understanding of the underlying medicine and to conduct a detailed case assessment to determine whether settlement or trial is best for the client. Nick also defends pharmacies and pharmacists in state licensure matters and commonly advises pharmacists as to compliance with state and federal rules and regulations. In addition, he brings significant appellate experience to the Ann Arbor office.
He is active in the community and serves in various charitable volunteer and nonprofit advisory roles, including his church congregation, which supports the work of charities that provide free medical care, dental care, and meals to families in need throughout the Ann Arbor area.
Nick and his wife, Natalie, enjoy spending time with their children, Abigail and Henry, and traveling throughout Michigan. Nick also enjoys music and deep diving into the world of mechanical and automatic watches.
