Smith Haughey Names New Shareholder

Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge is pleased to announce that Thomas J. Vitale has been named a Shareholder of the firm.

Tom has been part of the firm since joining Smith Haughey from a Detroit-based firm in early 2019, and concentrates his practice in construction, business and real estate. Serving as a trusted business advisor to companies of all sizes, he helps clients manage their day-to-day corporate matters and guides them through more complex strategic transactions. Tom routinely advises owners/developers, general contractors, subcontractors and suppliers relating to commercial and industrial sites, which includes drafting, negotiation and review of contract documents, commercial/industrial leasing, as well as real estate acquisition and disposition. Tom also serves as external general counsel to a number of companies in order to manage their risk and outside legal needs, including proactively evaluating alternative dispute resolution options as well as representation in high-stakes litigation.

Tom has been selected for inclusion on the Super Lawyers Rising Stars list in Construction Litigation from 2017 through 2021, an honor limited to 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state of Michigan.
