SHRR Welcomes 2025 Summer Associates

Please join us in welcoming Emily Bluck, Nolan Coy and Ian Lee to SHRR for the Summer.

Emily Bluck | Summer Associate

Emily is attending law school at Michigan State University. She was a Moot Court Class participant. She received her bachelor’s from Grand Vally State University. She’s gained experience as a Legal Assistant at Phelps Legal Group in Traverse City, a Public Defender Intern in Muskegon County, and a Law Clerk at Speaker Law Firm in Lansing. She has a particular interest in appellate law.

Emily is from Traverse City, where she learned to love the sunshine, fresh cherries, and long beach days. She absolutely adores her sweet cat, Poppy. She enjoys reading mysteries and bowling, and she recently taught herself how to crochet. She finds joy in the simple things—fresh air, unhurried mornings, and connecting with others.

Nolan Coy | Summer Associate

Nolan is at Indiana University Maurer School of Law. He received his undergrad from Indiana University Kelley School of Business. He’s worked at Endress+Hauser in Greenwood, IN for a couple of summers, once as a Sales and Accounting Intern and most recently as a Legal Extern. So far, he has some interest in business/corporate law.

Nolan enjoys cooking, baking, cocktail mixing, hiking, weightlifting, and reading (mostly sci-fi and fantasy, but also a good amount of nonfiction). He doesn’t have any pets, but is very attentive to his houseplants. He has three brothers (2 older, 1 younger).

Ian Lee | Summer Associate

Ian is a “Super Spartan” as he is currently in law school at Michigan State University where he also received his undergrad. Last summer, he was a Legal Intern at the Kent County Office of the Defender. He was also an intern with Ingham County Judge (now retired), David Jordon, and Ingham County’s Pretrial Services. He is particularly interested in medical malpractice defense.

Ian has been married since October 2021 to his wife, Anna. They have two black cats named Cornelius and George. They currently live in Okemos, but are excited to get back to Kent County after he graduates. They love to play competitive board games like “Everdell,” “Wyrmspan,” and “Catan”.
