Attorneys E. Thomas McCarthy and William Jack Honored by Michigan State Bar Negligence Section

The Negligence Law Section of the Michigan State Bar honors individuals for outstanding contributions to the legal professional and unwavering commitment to excellence. This year Smith Haughey attorneys Tom McCarthy and Bill Jack are being recognized. Tom McCarthy will receive the Outstanding Achievement Award, which is given each year to a lawyer in recognition of distinguished and outstanding service to the legal community during his or her career. Tom is an outstanding trial lawyer who has enjoyed tremendous success in many areas of litigation, and has worked tirelessly to improve the professional through involvement in organizations like the state bar, American College of Trial lawyers, and many other activities. Bill Jack is being recognized with the Distinguished Mediator Award, which recognizes an outstanding attorney with superior skills in dispute resolution who exemplifies the trust, civility, integrity and ethical standards necessary to foster the settlement of disputes between adverse parties and advance the efficient administration of justice. Bill is highly regarded across Michigan for his outstanding mediation skills and his contribution to the legal profession is unprecedented.
