Grand Rapids, Mich., November 22, 2013 — Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge is pleased to announce attorneys Charles J. Pike and Anders J. Gillis have joined Smith Haughey.
As a previous summer associate for Smith Haughey, Charles Pike has joined the Grand Rapids office. He represents both companies and individuals in the areas of commercial litigation, legal malpractice, professional liability and transportation and no-fault law. He is involved with litigation matters ranging from contract disputes to general business issues and coverage claims.
Charles earned a J.D. from Wayne State University Law School and a B.A. in Business Administration and Marketing from Grand Valley State University, where he played for the 2005 Division 2 Football National Championship team. His professional experience includes serving as a Student Attorney and Litigation Supervisor for the Free Legal Aid Clinic and interning for State Representative Jeff Mayes.
Additionally, Anders Gillis was a summer associate and joins our Traverse City office as an associate attorney. He represents and defends an array of individuals and companies practicing in the areas of commercial litigation, real estate and trusts and estate planning.
He earned a J.D. from Michigan State University, where he graduated cum laude. Active in law school, Anders was the Vice President of the Environmental Law Society and editor of the Journal of Animal and Natural Resource Law. He also earned the Jurisprudence Award in Trial Advocacy and earned his Trial Practice Certification. Anders received his B.A. and B.S. from Northern Michigan University, where he graduated summa cum laude.
