D. Adam Tountas, an attorney in Smith Haughey’s Grand Rapids office, has been appointed Chair of the Firm’s Litigation Practice Group.
Adam represents a variety of clients, from individuals to Fortune 500 companies. As a commercial litigator, Adam regularly appears before judges and juries throughout Michigan in complex business and corporate litigation. “Litigation has been an important part of our firm throughout its 75 year history,” said Bill Jack, Smith Haughey Chief Executive Officer and Shareholder. “Adam was my first choice to take over leadership of the Litigation Practice Group so that we could build on its successes. His track record of professional accomplishments and community service is well established, and he carries on the rich tradition of skilled advocacy and excellence that our clients have come to rely upon.”
Adam serves on several non-profit Boards and Committees, including the Jenison Public School Board of Education, Ottawa County Reapportionment Committee and the Ottawa County Officers Compensation Committee. In addition, he frequently volunteers at Upward Bound and the Student Statesmanship Institute.
