Smith Haughey Attorney Mary Pigorsh Selected as One of Michigan’s Women in the Law 2017

Grand Rapids, Mich., July 27, 2017 — Mary R. Pigorsh, an attorney with Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge, has been chosen for Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s Women in the Law, Class of 2017.

The list of Women in the Law consists of 30 top women attorneys who practice in Michigan. A large number of nominations are submitted before the Michigan Lawyers Weekly staff selects the final 30 practitioners. Selections are based on the nominees’ commitment to excellence in the practice of law, leadership skills, and dedication to volunteerism and mentoring to women attorneys. An awards luncheon will be held to honor the recipients on Thursday, September 7 at the Detroit Marriott in Troy, Mich.

For nearly two decades, Mary has successfully represented individuals in courts across West Michigan since 2005, Mary’s exclusive focus and dedication has been in helping families and individuals in all areas of family law and domestic relations. In addition to her litigation work, Mary is a trained domestic relations mediator and a collaboratively-trained lawyer. For many years, Mary was the chair of the firm’s Family Law Practice Group.  Additionally, she sat on the firm’s Board of Directors for several years. Much of her time is also given back to the community through her pro bono work and her involvement in the Family Law Section of the Grand Rapids Bar Association where during the last four years she has served as a Trustee, Secretary, Chair Elect, and Chair.
