Jacqueline Clarke is an attorney in Smith Haughey's Ann Arbor office, focusing her practice on medical malpractice defense litigation. Jacqueline represents hospitals, nurses and other healthcare providers throughout the state in all stages of litigation.
Prior to joining Smith Haughey, Jacqueline had considerable experience as a medical malpractice defense attorney in the Detroit, Michigan area. She has worked side-by-side with the legal departments of several major Michigan hospitals in creating litigation strategies for high-exposure cases, and has had success in defending entities in all stages of litigation. In addition, Jacqueline has spoken at numerous legal seminar events regarding topics in medical malpractice litigation and hospital risk management.
Jacqueline earned her J.D. from Michigan State University School of Law. During her time there she was awarded the Jurisprudence Achievement Award for finishing 1st in the class in four different courses. She also served as the Senior Notes Editor for the Michigan State Law Review, wherein she taught weekly seminars for law students on legal research and expanded her own skills in crafting persuasive arguments and analyses. Jacqueline earned her B.A. in English literature with a writing emphasis and minor in film studies from Kalamazoo College.
In her spare time, Jacqueline enjoys embarking on culinary tours of different countries to appreciate and learn how to cook different regional cuisines - this is influenced by her fanatical devotion to the Food Network. She is also a yoga enthusiast and loves to write and play music.
