Paralegal


The Holland office of Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge is seeking an experienced paralegal for our growing Business and Real Estate department. Experience in the areas of securities, business and/or real estate are strongly preferred. This is a full-time position with responsibility for preparing and managing blue-sky securities filings, preparing various business and real estate agreements, and other legal documents for review and approval by attorney. Candidates must be self-directed, critical thinkers, have a knack for attention to detail, deliver very high levels of client service, be well-organized, and be both comfortable and skilled in interfacing with clients and government officials.

Appellate Attorney


Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge is seeking an experienced appellate attorney for its Grand Rapids office.  The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years’ experience as appellate counsel and will be licensed (or willing and able to become licensed) in Michigan.  Experience in the following areas would be beneficial:  medical malpractice, legal malpractice, complex and/or commercial litigation.  This is an opportunity to build a career with one of Michigan’s leading litigation firms and to help grow our appellate practice.  Smith Haughey offers a competitive salary, comprehensive benefit package, and a supportive, flexible, and collegial work environment.  .

Legal Secretary


The Grand Rapids office of Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge is seeking an experienced legal secretary for our growing Private Client Services department. Experience in the areas of estate planning, trusts, business and/or real property are strongly preferred. Experience in accounting, banking, or financial services are beneficial, though not required. This is a full-time position with responsibility for providing a variety of legal secretarial duties for attorneys including client interaction, scheduling and coordinating meetings, and preparing legal documents, correspondence and electronic filings. Candidates must be confident, enjoy client relationships, have a knack for attention to detail, deliver very high levels of client service, and be well-organized. The Smith Haughey Private Client Services department prides itself on taking our clients’ affairs very seriously and with a high-degree of privacy while not taking ourselves too seriously.
