The team of environmental attorneys at Smith Haughey have experience and expertise growing out of decades representing clients involved in a full spectrum of environmental issues caused by the application of environmental laws and regulations to their businesses and private lives. Our team represents intra-state and national corporations and businesses as well as small businesses and individuals focused upon the resolution of environmental compliance issues, with local, state and federal statutes, rules, ordinances and regulations, such as Michigan’s Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act (NREPA), and federal statues such as CERCLA, RCRA and the Clean Water Act.
Due diligence in the course of real estate transactions and mergers and acquisitions are significant practice areas for our team members as well as resolving site remediation issues and claims under applicable state and federal statutes and regulations. Our team members address land use and wetland issues as well as compliance with Michigan’s Mining Act.
